Well folks, here I am again - finally! Spent the last couple of weeks trying to make
sure there were no broken links on any of these pages. That took awhile - lots and lots
of pages!! :) Also did a major check on all the pages to make sure they were current.
If you find anything amiss, please let me know by e-mailing me (use the e-mail page).
Anyway - what a job! No wonder I've been putting it off! :)
So, I'm working again - for the time being - at my last employer. They call it "Temp";
I call it "Special Assignments"! :) The woman who re-took over my position when I was
there last, had to have some major surgery, so I agreed to go back for awhile. After
being gone, it quickly became very clear what the stresses were. Engineers are hard
people to work with!!! But the money helps until something comes along.
The only page that isn't updated is the "Surprise" page. I still have plans for that,
just not sure when I will get to it! I still think, for those who have a sense of humor,
it's silly enuf to keep you laughing for a minute or two :)
Been spending plenty of Saturdays, for the past few months, with my family. Though I
don't get to see them face to face, we have been spending time together on line using
AOL Instant Messenger. (And it's free too!) What a God Send that is! It allows me to
keep in touch with any family and any of my friends who have it installed! I've
thought about using this as a way to communicate with other thyroid patients, but
really not sure how that would work. I know there are a lot of forums and chats on the
Internet now, but it just seems to me that there has to be a better way - like this is
coming from the "Instant Gratification" generation! If anyone has any ideas, please let
me know.
Anyway, as an update to how I'm feeling... Well, tired a lot still. Since October 2000,
my meds have been adjusted to 0.15 mg of Synthroid and 0.05 of Cytomel once a day and,
although still tired a lot, am doing much better than a year ago. Though I will have
to say that the work I'm doing (again) is sapping my energy. When I last saw a doctor,
the major concern was heart palps and high blood pressure - though since the Cytomel
was reduced from 0.10 mg a day, the heart palps have gone and my blood pressure is much
more normal. I am having PMS again with the reduced Cytomel, and the "mid-life"
period problems have returned, but at least I've lost the fear that I will keel over
at any moment! :)
Hey! I have to say this though - compared to what I was like in 1996 and the interim
of hyper/hypo ups and downs, I am doing so much better! I know I will never be "right"
- there is no chance of that as far as I can see - but I'll take how I feel today over
how I felt then any day!!! - Ups and downs included. Tired and some feelings of "life"
are still way better than the "spastic situation" I lived for way too many years!
Though I still wish there were a magical "fix it all" to be found! :)
Look to the future - there really is hope!! Til next time! Sue --{--{-@
